My drawings simulate organic systems. Through a repetitive motion the drawings mimic biological systems, which form from simple components and evolve into complex structures. These images are then layered to illustrate a sort of imaginary microscopic or macroscopic space.
These works come from a desire to create through process and limitations, meditation and a strong connection to nature. As well as translucent materials, I am interested in pushing technology in my work and incorporating it into the process. Establishing a set of limitations when constructing a drawing creates a foundation to build upon; the process begins to reorganize those limitations. I consider these drawings to be an imaginative expression of the infinite possibilities that can be found in biological systems in our environment.
